Biography

Tannenbaum Helpern mourns the loss of our partner and dear friend Joshua M. Levy, who passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, after a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer.

No words can accurately express our grief over losing a friend and dear colleague who kept smiling while battling a terrible illness. We will celebrate his life, mentorship and contribution to our Firm.

Josh joined the Firm in 2011, initially focusing on environmental law before transitioning to construction law, and became partner in 2016. He ultimately rose to become Co-chair of the Firm’s Construction Law Practice. Josh was a dedicated and skillful attorney who cared for our clients and made a tremendous impact in growing the Construction Law practice and mentoring a great team.

All who came into contact with Josh know of his warm and generous spirit and were always impressed with his knowledge and practical advice. Through his tenure, he represented numerous prominent real estate development clients. He was a frequent speaker on construction topics and was a co-author of a regular construction law column in the New York Law Journal.

Josh was a beloved attorney, partner and friend to so many. The Firm’s thoughts and condolences are with the Levy and Sheldon families, including Josh’s wife Marcy, and their children Sienna, Alden and Taegan. We deeply mourn their loss.
